Rhinofly

They say they are one of the best secrets of the city of Utrecht, in the Netherlands, but we doubt it, given the well-known brands they have in their portfolio. Rhinofly is a creative communications agency where inventors and creators work together to merge concepts and codes. From strategy, concept, creation, to implementation, Rhinofly uses technology and creativity to build interactive communication solutions in different platforms. We are proud to support their business with our tool.

10,000ft Plans spoke with Rhinofly’s Manager Operations & Development, Roy Pereira, with the hope he would share with us the secret of their success.

What is your company most proud of?

We are proud of the fact that everybody who works at Rhinofly is passionate about their work. We are not in it for the money, we are in it for the game. We just love the Internet! Play & Work! It’s our game.

Describe how you manage your project portfolio and people? – What are some of the challenges and benefits of your process?

Rhinofly has 40 employees, who all have their own expertise. Every single one of them works on multiple projects across different teams. This makes the work very diverse, which contributes to keep everybody motivated. The main challenge lies in project and resource planning, and time tracking, which are pretty complex. That is why we have been searching, for a long time, for a planning system that meets our needs completely.

What attracted you to 10,000ft Plans? Has 10,000ft Plans added benefit to your company? If so, how?

We were attracted to 10,000ft Plans because it combines project planning and time-tracking. Before, we had our own systems, one for time-tracking and another for project management. Having two systems in one has made life a lot easier for our project managers. They get to spend their time on the project, the customer and the team, instead of just getting the numbers right.

What’s the secret sauce to your success?

At Rhinofly we have 3 sayings: ‘give a fuck’, ‘stop whining, start winning’, and ‘produce a smile’. They remind us every day that we have to care about our work and that complaining won’t get you anywhere. ‘Produce a smile’ means making the customer happy. If the customer is happy, we are happy!

What’s your vision for your company in the next 5 years?

In the next 5 years we would like to expand our expertise in innovation with every aspect of interactive communication. Interactive applications that go beyond the browser of your desktop, like sensor-based apps. We are also looking forward to adding new, exciting brands to our portfolio.

What lesson would you give to someone starting out a new agency?

Have a plan and stick to it. In time, make new plans.
